Currently, you don’t have a choice in how PG&E selects your power. Your PG&E electricity is generated from a portfolio that includes carbon-emitting and nuclear energy sources like natural gas and nuclear power. CleanPowerSF will generate your electricity from a 100% renewable electricity portfolio. CleanPowerSF’s energy mixture will utilize resources like solar, wind, biogas and geothermal power, effectively the cleanest energy available in the United States.

Same Service – 100% Cleaner Energy from Day One


In order to provide customers with energy that is 100% renewable, rates will increase. All other aspects of your electricity service remain the same. PG&E will continue to bill customers, operate the electrical grid in the City and distribute electricity to residents and businesses. CleanPowerSF will just ensure that the electricity generated to serve your load is 100% renewable.  

It’s Simple

  • Do nothing, and you will receive cleaner energy; it’s that simple.

 

  • When CleanPowerSF begins, you will immediately receive energy that is much cleaner than the energy currently provided by PG&E.

 

  • PG&E will continue to transmit and distribute electricity directly to residents and businesses within the city.

 

  • Customers who wish to opt-out of this program may do so and revert back to PG&E’s energy supply. Please follow the instructions on the Your Participation Page.
