Request for Offers Accepted Through October 27, 2022
SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) is now accepting bids for Renewable Energy Supplies and Demand Response capacity for its CleanPowerSF program to advance progress on the City’s clean energy goals and support California’s transition towards a clean and reliable electricity grid.
The SFPUC’s Request for Offers (RFO) seeks bids for renewable energy, battery storage, environmental attributes, capacity attributes, ancillary services and related products from new and existing renewable energy, storage, and demand response resources for the SFPUC Power Enterprise. Bids will be accepted through October 27, 2022 for new and existing resources with delivery dates prior to December 31, 2028.
Through this RFO, the SFPUC seeks bids for the following product types, with an emphasis on those that can deliver energy and/or capacity benefits during the critical hours of 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.:
Renewable Product – energy, environmental attributes and capacity from new and existing renewable energy facilities;
Renewable and Storage Product – energy, environmental attributes and capacity from new or existing renewable energy facilities paired with energy storage; and
Demand Response Product – capacity from demand response resources

CleanPowerSF, San Francisco’s community choice aggregation program, began serving customers in 2016 with a mission to provide San Francisco residents and businesses with clean, renewable electricity at competitive rates. Hetch Hetchy Power also provides electricity to some commercial and residential developments, including affordable housing sites. Collectively, Hetch Hetchy Power and CleanPowerSF meet over 70 percent of the electricity demand in San Francisco.
