CARE (California Alternate Rates for Energy) and FERA (Family Electric Rates Assistance) are two state programs available to CleanPowerSF customers through their PG&E bill. They offer a discount on your monthly electricity bill. FERA customers get an 18% monthly discount. CARE customers get a 30-35% monthly discount.

About CARE and FERA Discount Programs
CleanPowerSF customers can receive a monthly discount on their electricity bills through the CARE (California Alternate Rates for Energy) and FERA (Family Electric Rates Assistance) programs. You qualify for CARE or FERA based on your household income or by participating in certain public assistance programs (like Food Stamps or Medicaid).

CARE and FERA are State programs run by PG&E. As a CleanPowerSF customer, you submit your application through PG&E, but the discount is applied to both the PG&E and CleanPowerSF portion of the bill. The CARE and FERA discounts are applied equally to both CleanPowerSF customers and PG&E bundled service customers.
