A More Sustainable Future
CleanPowerSF buys your electricity from sources such as wind and solar, and that electricity is delivered to your home via PG&E’s existing poles and wires. All other aspects of your electricity service will remain the same, including billing. Customers are automatically enrolled in our Green service, which is at least 70% California-certified renewable energy. Customers also have the option to upgrade to our SuperGreen service, which is with 100% California-certified renewable energy. Together, we’re moving San Francisco toward a more sustainable future.

Community Investment
Our goal is to invest ratepayer funds back into San Francisco by providing stable rates, supporting the development of new renewable energy projects, creating jobs, and helping consumers manage their energy use and cost.
Stable and Competitive Rates
Our goal is to set rates once for the entire year through a public process, providing customers more rate and cost stability. A Growing Movement
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission is San Francisco’s clean energy utility. Through its two clean energy programs, CleanPowerSF and Hetch Hetchy Power, the SFPUC currently provides more than 70% of the electricity consumed in San Francisco. CleanPowerSF is San Francisco's Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) program. CCA programs enable local governments to purchase and/or develop power on behalf of the local community. California’s growing CCA movement has a track record of delivering savings on customers’ electric bills, while providing more clean power to the grid.
