In the heart of the Bay Area, where the quest for sustainable living intertwines with the need for affordable housing, a new partnership has emerged. Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco (Habitat Greater San Francisco) recently joined forces with CleanPowerSF’s EV Charge SF program to bring electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to their latest affordable homeownership development in San Francisco at Amber Drive.

SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) is accepting bids for Renewable Energy Supplies and Stand-Alone Energy Storage for its CleanPowerSF program. The agency is emphasizing diverse and emerging technologies in this solicitation, such as non-lithium-ion and longer duration storage technologies.

Earlier this year, the SFPUC launched Electrify My Ride, a program that offered a $1,000 coupon toward the purchase of a new electric bike (or e-bike) for CleanPowerSF customers with low incomes. In total, all 1,000 coupons were issued to customers and over 360 San Franciscans redeemed their coupon before the program ended on April 20.

ICYMI: new electricity rates were adopted by the SFPUC Commission on May 14, 2024, and will be effective July 1, 2024. Through a transparent and public process, these rates have been carefully designed to prioritize local customers rather than profits for shareholders.

SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission's (SFPUC) community choice energy program, CleanPowerSF, is expanding its renewable energy portfolio, committing to a new 15-megawatt battery energy storage and 20-megawatt solar project in Stanislaus County. The renewable energy project will help ensure more clean, affordable, and reliable electricity for 385,000 CleanPowerSF customers in San Francisco.

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) voted on May 14 to adopt annual power rates for the CleanPowerSF program. The new rates will go into effect for customers beginning July 1, 2024.
